Well, the news is out. At around 9:30ish PM last night it was stated on Fox that Michael Vick was signed by the Eagles. If you know me, you will know that I am a huge Virginia Tech fan and a huge Eagles fan. With that being said, you will most likely think I’m biased. But please read on.

When Michael Vick was arrested and put in jail, I lost a lot of respect for him. What frustrated me even more was that just because he was going to jail, suddenly he “found Jesus”. So while you think this may be a biased opinion, please understand that I was furious when I heard this news.

BUT, and there is always a big but, I believe he deserves a second chance. Why?

Remember when Jesus went up to the prostitute and said “Go and sin no more”. She was given a second chance.

And how many other 2nd chances do we see in the Bible. Also, keep in mind that we are all sinners too and God gives us multiple chances. Just because we did not start a dog-fighting ring in our backyard doesn’t mean we are out of this “2nd Chance” stuff.

So what am I saying? While I’m a huge fan, I’m all about 2nd chances because that’s what Jesus would’ve done.

One last thing. I admire Tony Dungy and I believe that having Tony Dungy as Vick’s “mentor” is a great idea and will prove successful.
